1. Deepening penetration of popular culture

K-pop and film and television entries: Improve the entries of groups such as BTS and BLACKPINK, include details such as the evolution of music style, social influence (such as UN speeches), and global awards, and strengthen their positioning as "cultural phenomena" rather than "entertainment products".

Case: BTS's English Wiki page has an average annual visit of more than 20 million times. After the release of its 2020 single "Dynamite", the number of searches for Korean tourism surged by 35% (data from the Korea Tourism Organization).

In-depth analysis of film and television dramas: Create independent entries for popular dramas such as "Squid Game" and "Dark Glory", analyze narrative structure and social metaphors (such as class contradictions), attract academic attention, and promote it to become a global cultural research topic.

2. Modern interpretation of traditional culture

Activation of intangible cultural heritage projects: Combine intangible cultural heritage entries such as "Hanji Craft" and "Jongmyo Rituals" with contemporary design and technology applications. For example, add cases of the application of Hanji in iPhone screen repair technology to break the stereotype of "traditional = outdated".

Food culture output: Add scientific endorsement to the "Kimchi" entry (such as Yonsei University's research on kimchi probiotics) and link it to innovative Korean dishes in Michelin restaurants around the world, promoting its upgrade from "ethnic food" to "symbol of healthy diet."

3. Accurate transformation of tourism economy

In the "Jeju Island" entry, the UNESCO Geopark certification details are embedded, and the real-life navigation of film and television dramas such as "Pachinko" is linked to promote the customization of theme tourism. In 2023, the number of European and American tourists to Jeju Island increased by 27% year-on-year, of which 43% said they obtained travel information through Wikipedia.

Create a special entry for "Korean Beauty Medical Care", integrate the JCI-certified hospital list and postoperative rehabilitation services of Apgujeong Plastic Surgery Street in Seoul, and it is expected that medical tourism revenue will exceed US$5 billion in 2025.

4. International young talent absorption

Add a "Foreign Player Training Program" to the "Korean E-sports Industry" entry, link to the multi-language application channel of the T1 Academy youth training camp, and absorb 50 overseas potential players annually

Wikipedia is now like a "dictionary" in the online world. Whoever writes cool things on it can secretly brainwash the whole world. If South Korea does well in this regard, it will be like burying countless "cultural minefields" in Google searches. No matter what people around the world search for, they will end up with South Korea - this is much more effective than making 100 propaganda films.

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
