week 4 : Wikipidia edit - ljhwa(이진화)
Summary
The document was related to the singer's album, so a source for various figures was required. In addition, there was a lack of source for clear arguments about what they wanted to express. Due to the characteristics of the field of music, non-experts were able to make their own arguments, so they brought the part where the parties introduced the song themselves as a basis. I believe that clarifying the original creator's intent in music is essential to prevent various issues. This is even more important on knowledge-based platforms that serve as repositories, such as Wikipedia.
Any new, interesting, or unusual items learned
Music documents gave us a glance at the recordings of each country. If the source is sufficient, you can think of it as a "receipt" or "report card" of the work.
Identify at least one question, concern, or discussion
Most of the statistical evidence for the document came from the Gaon Digital Chart. The site is fully reliable because it is a country-approved site, but it has a disadvantage that it is less famous than reliable. Wouldn't it be an obstacle to being used as a source of music if it wasn't famous enough for music to be played against the public?
When we discuss the popularity of the album, we first think of charts like Billboard, Official, Spotify, and Apple Music. In the 2020s, K-pop has been influential in the music industry. However, it is not easy for all idols to put their names on the charts above. While there are groups with larger global fandom, there are groups with larger domestic fandom. It would be sad to score them just by the size of the fandom or the authority of the chart they entered. If the Korean charts are suitable for describing idols with strong domestic fandom, then let them be! As far as I know, the Oricon chart exerts considerable influence on its own in Japan. I think Gaon will also be the same in Korea.
