Translate Wikipedia articles- JIANGJIASHAN(강가삼)

 summary:

At first, when selecting materials for translation, I chose to translate from English to Chinese based on my interests or hot topics, as the English version is detailed while the Chinese version requires additional translation and supplementary materials. When translating, note the cultural differences in grammar and terminology across regions. At the same time, it is important to ensure the neutrality of translated articles and avoid supervisory expressions. Translation: When translating, retain the original references and attribute the original English sources.

interesting bits:

English long sentences in passive voice, while Chinese tends towards short sentences in active voice.

For example, English:The theory, which was proposed in 1920, has been widely accepted.

中文翻译:该理论于1920年提出,现已广受认可。

A Question:

How do you add cross-language links if Wikipedia does not have Chinese entries?

Comments

  1. If the Chinese article does not exist yet, you cannot add a cross-language link through Wikidata. However, there are still ways to prepare for future linkage. One option is to create a short version or stub of the article on Chinese Wikipedia; once the stub exists, you can then link it to the English article via Wikidata. Alternatively, while working in your sandbox, you can temporarily indicate the intention to link to a Chinese version by adding a line like `[[zh:文章标题]]`. Note that this manual link will not function in the main article space unless the corresponding Chinese page has already been created.
