week 5 - my recent wikipidia edits
I modified the 'e-sports' document in Korean Wikipedia and the 'LCK' document in English Wikipedia. E-sports refers to an activity in which players compete and compete with each other through a game. It is a market that has been growing rapidly due to the explosive increase since COVID-19, and it is very well suited to the developing trend of science. E-sports can be classified into a domestic league and an international league, and the LCK, which I edited on Wikipedia in English, is the top league in Korea. Considering Korea's advanced Internet situation, Korea's status in e-sports is quite high.
Below is a summary of the changes I have contributed.

Any new, interesting, or unusual items learned
It is very surprising that the first video game competition was in 1972. This is because it was difficult to feel that the event has a duration of about 50 years. I thought that e-sports itself was not long because of the rapid development of electronic devices, which are essential for e-sports to develop. However, I think that the reason for the rapid development of e-sports in recent years is probably the Asian financial crisis and Corona.
Identify at least one question, concern, or discussion
There is still a lot of discussion about whether to recognize games as a sport. Is there any problem with recognizing games as a sport?
Although not yet in the Olympics, E-sports is already adopted as an official event in the Asian Games. Seven games were played at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. South Korea actually won the gold medal in the League of Legends. Nevertheless, there are concerns. While traditional "sports" do not have copyrights and owners, games are "products" sold by companies. What happens if the sponser owns the league? Are we sure that E-sports is free from all lobbying and match fixing?
