WEEK2:My Wikipedia Edit----MUYE(모엽)

This week, I really started editing Wikipedia, and I gained a lot and stepped on a lot of pitfalls.

When I first learned to cite them, I thought that the materials on the Chinese and English wikis were universal, but it turned out that it was not the case at all. For example, I want to add references to my translation work, but the Chinese wiki requires that there must be a Chinese source. In the end, I had to go through various news reports and finally find a reference material that met the requirements. This process made me realize that Wikipedia is really strict about information sources.

The biggest headache for me is uploading photos. I wanted to add a few good-looking photos of my favorite celebrities, but it turned out that Wikipedia's requirements for image copyright are simply perverted. Not only can't you use official promotional photos, but you can't even use photos taken by fan stations. In the end, I had to use the photos I took when I watched the roadshow last year, and I had to specify the time and place of the shooting in the description. However, it is quite rewarding to see the photos I took appear on the idol's wiki page.

The biggest feeling this week is that Wikipedia really can't be edited casually. Every change must have a basis, and every change must stand up to scrutiny. Although the process was a bit troublesome, it was quite rewarding to see the content I edited being retained. In particular, when I found that someone was continuing to improve on the basis of the article I created, I suddenly understood what it means to "everyone gathers firewood and the flame is high".
