WEEK3:My Wikipedia Edit----MUYE(모엽)

This week I continued my "battle of wits" with Wikipedia, and I feel like I'm gradually getting the hang of it. The translation task is still ongoing, but it's becoming much smoother now - at least I don't get my edits reverted by administrators so often anymore.

Finding reliable sources has been a real headache. I used to think any random news link from the internet would suffice, but now I understand how strict Wikipedia's requirements for sources are. After watching the "How to Find Reliable Sources" tutorial video, I finally learned to use academic databases. However, sometimes finding suitable references takes even more time than the translation itself, especially for niche topics. Yesterday, while searching for box office data of an obscure Korean film, I scoured through various Korean websites until my eyes nearly crossed.

This brings me to my procrastination problem - I completely forgot about the blog assignments! By the time I remembered, I was already several posts behind. Now, in addition to editing tasks, I have to catch up on blogs - serves me right. But as I write, I'm realizing that documenting the pitfalls and solutions encountered during the editing process is actually quite helpful for future work.

The weekly requirement of 10 edits isn't exactly difficult, just somewhat tedious. Then I had a brainwave - I decided to focus on editing the page of my favorite actor. This way, I can combine my fangirling with completing assignments, making it much less painful. For example, yesterday I updated information about his latest film project and added several award records. But I have to constantly remind myself to maintain neutrality and avoid turning it into fanfiction. Once I almost slipped and added a description like "explosive acting skills" - thankfully I deleted it in time.

The biggest lesson this week: Never procrastinate on Wikipedia work! Tasks that seem simple always end up having unexpected complications in practice. Next week I must break my procrastination habit and start assignments earlier. But honestly, seeing my favorite actor's page become more complete through my edits - this sense of accomplishment is quite addictive.

(I must remember to write blogs on time next time...)
