Week5 -- My Wikipedia Edits -- LIU ZIYE

In Week 4, I continued editing the English Wikipedia article on Infinity Nikki. This time, I added information about the game’s original soundtrack (OST) receiving an award, hoping to enrich the article’s cultural and musical aspects.

2) New or interesting things learned:
Just like in my previous edit, finding a reliable reference was the most difficult part. I first discovered the award news using Chinese sources, but since I was contributing to the English Wikipedia, I needed to locate an English-language source. Fortunately, I found an official news post on the game’s English website, which was acceptable. This experience reminded me that language and verifiability are both crucial when working on English Wikipedia entries, especially for content originally published in other languages.

3) Question or discussion point:
This editing task made me think about how to more efficiently locate credible English sources for Chinese-language content. Although Chinese games like Infinity Nikki are becoming more globally recognized, most detailed coverage still comes from Chinese-language platforms. Going forward, I plan to explore international awards and multilingual news aggregators as better starting points for finding acceptable references that meet Wikipedia’s standards.

Week 1. My Recent Wikipedia Edits - Jeong seolah (정설아)

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
