Week5: Wikipedia edit-Kwon Hyunji (권현지)
1) summarize and link to my edit
I edited an article 'Australia in Cannabis'
this week. Cannabis is a plant that has many uses in Australia. It is used for
preference, medicine, and industrial purposes, and Australia has the highest
cannabis penetration rate in the world. I have translated the history of
cannabis distribution in Australia from the beginning to 2024. Australians
analyzed cannabis use according to factors such as gender and age. It has also
written about the laws and policies currently being applied in relation to
cannabis in Australia. I have also learned about the cannabis supply and
advocacy positions. We also had time to organize about slang for cannabis that
people don't commonly know.
2) mention of any new, interesting, or unusual items learned
In Australia's population over the age of
14, we have found that cannabis is consumed more than other illegal drugs. In
Australia's population over the age of 14, cannabis is found to be consumed
more than other illegal drugs. And the average starting age range for people
who use cannabis was 18.9 (average) or 17.2 (median). It was surprising that
the average starting age for people who use cannabis was in their teens. I
thought the fact that there are a lot of people who use cannabis in Australia
and that the starting age is younger had sparked debate about allowing
cannabis. And I wondered if there would be confusion on the part of the
country, given that different laws apply in different states.
3) identify at least one question, concern, or discussion angle that is related to your edit that you would like to discuss further with others.
To what extent should there be regulations
regarding the use of cannabis? And why did you set that range?
Can we distinguish between medical use and
non-medical use?
