Week6- Wikipedia Edit-CHEN SIWEN 진사문

1. Summary

Wikipedia does not have a traditional editorial team but relies on global user collaboration to build its knowledge base. This trust-based system, though seemingly fragile, has become one of the most reliable platforms in the world. In the age of AI, however, Wikipedia faces new challenges such as traffic surges, declining content quality, and copyright issues. It also reflects the concept of social integration as a two-way process—individuals adapt to society, and society, in turn, must embrace diversity.

2. Interesting Points

At the heart of Wikipedia is a community culture built on kindness, collaboration, and inclusiveness.  AI-driven content overload and infrastructure strain are threatening the quality and openness of the platform.  Social integration is not one-sided; society should also adjust to include diverse individuals.

3. Discussion

How can we ensure that Wikipedia continues to support genuine human collaboration in an increasingly automated world?

Comments

  1. We can continue to encourage cooperation and mutual trust among people, encouraging everyone to edit content together. At the same time, let robots just help and not replace humans in making decisions.
