week7--- Class Discussion Question 1----WU JIACHEN

When searching for information, I prefer using artificial intelligence tools. My preference is based on the following three reasons:

  1. Strong Information Integration
Artificial intelligence can extract key information from various sources based on my questions and present it in a clear and concise manner, greatly improving the efficiency of information acquisition. In contrast, although Wikipedia is comprehensive, the information is often scattered and not easy to grasp quickly.

  2. Highly Interactive
Artificial intelligence can adjust its responses based on user feedback and follow-up questions, providing a more personalized experience. This interactive way of obtaining knowledge allows me to solve problems more accurately during the learning process, while Wikipedia, being static content, cannot provide such interaction.

  3. More Accessible Language
AI often explains complex concepts in simple and relatable terms, which helps beginners understand more easily. Wikipedia, on the other hand, uses more formal and academic language that may be difficult for users with limited background knowledge.

1.Summary

Overall, although Wikipedia is a collaborative platform with a high level of credibility, artificial intelligence offers more efficient information integration, an interactive experience, and easy-to-understand language, making it better suited to my actual needs when searching for and learning new information.

2.Interesting Point

Interestingly, AI sometimes explains knowledge using examples, metaphors, or even storytelling. This approach makes learning more engaging and also helps deepen understanding and memory.

3.Question

In the process of acquiring knowledge, should we rely entirely on artificial intelligence, or should we combine it with traditional sources like Wikipedia to ensure the completeness and accuracy of information?

Comments

  1. AI is fast and easy to understand, but it has a problem that it can provide inaccurate or simplified information. Particularly in complex topics, details may be omitted or certain perspectives may be emphasized. On the other hand, traditional data come from a clear source and are more reliable. So I think it is best to quickly grasp the outline with AI, check the facts with traditional data, and learn more deeply.

  2. When acquiring knowledge, we should not rely entirely on artificial intelligence. Although AI can quickly provide information and process large amounts of data, its responses are based on existing algorithms and data and may contain biases or inaccuracies. Traditional sources like Wikipedia, although edited by volunteers, have undergone multiple rounds of review and updates to provide a diverse range of perspectives and relatively accurate information. Combining AI with traditional knowledge platforms ensures more comprehensive and accurate information, reducing misleading and one-sided information.
