 I edited the Chinese Wikipedia article on “外貌至上主义” (Lookism), a social phenomenon where people are judged or discriminated against based on their appearance. I added more context to the introduction to improve the article’s clarity and expanded the section on how lookism influences modern media and employment.

While editing, I realized that although “lookism” is a widely discussed topic in popular discourse, many Wikipedia articles still lack detailed cultural examples or cross-cultural comparisons. I also noticed that the Chinese version was shorter and less developed than its English counterpart, prompting me to consider contributing more original sources in the future. 

One thing I’m still unsure about is how much interpretation is acceptable in Wikipedia edits. When explaining the effects of lookism, I felt the need to include commentary or societal analysis—but I wasn’t sure if that would violate the "no original research" policy.

Week 1. My Recent Wikipedia Edits - Jeong seolah (정설아)

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
