Weekly Blog - Week 5 Natalie Tian LookatmiWiki

Summary

This week, I continued working on my Wikipedia editing project. Most of my learning happened through in-class activities, where we followed step-by-step instructions to make real edits. Compared to last week, when I felt quite lost, this week I felt more confident. I got more hands-on experience and started to understand the editing tools better. One of the tasks I attempted was nominating an article—Dreaming Tree (café)—for deletion due to notability concerns. However, I made a mistake by clicking the wrong place several times. Luckily, the professor gave me kind and helpful feedback on how to fix the issue.

The Thing I Found Interesting

I found it really interesting how every small edit or mistake on Wikipedia is noticed by the community. The way editors help each other and give feedback through talk pages or places like the Teahouse shows how collaborative Wikipedia really is. It made me feel like I’m part of a bigger project, even as a beginner. I also realized how important it is to be careful when editing, especially when using tools like Twinkle.

Question

If I accidentally nominate something for deletion again, is there a way to undo it myself, or do I always need to ask more experienced editors for help?
