KBO League is a professional baseball league in South Korea.

New, interesting, or unusual items learned

KBO, Korea Baseball Organization was founded in 1982 by the 11th President Chun Doo-hwan, known as the dictator. He implemented the 3S(Screen, Sports, Sex) policy to prevent the public from paying attention to politics and democracy.

Five teams participated in the first year: OB Bears, MBC Chungyong, Haitai Tigers, Lotte Giants, and Sammi Superstars. The most winning team in the KBO League has been the Kia Tigers, who won 12 times. The Kia Tigers succeeded the Haitai Tigers in 2001. They are located in Gwangju Metropolitan City.

The most widely known culture in the Korean baseball league is 응원가(fan song). There are songs for every player. Fans chant their names to the music, and add words such as "hit" or "home run". Fan songs are usually given to batters, not pitchers or catchers.

Question, concern, or discussion angle

As global warming intensifies, spring and fall in Korea are getting hotter. While players and fans are suffering, the KBO is still keeping weekend games to start at 2 p.m. Should they allow spring and fall weekend games to start at 5 p.m. like summer?

Korean baseball is often criticized for its lack of competitiveness. In the Olympics and World Baseball Classic, South Korea has ranked lower than Japan and Taiwan. Why is that? Is it because of lack of interest or lack of investment?

Week 1. My Recent Wikipedia Edits - Jeong seolah (정설아)

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
