Week9---Edit Wikipedia YANJINJIN(염금금)

 1.Summary

I tried editing the Wikipedia entry for "electric cars". As a tech enthusiast, I was very interested in this topic, so I decided to contribute.The process of editing Wikipedia is very interesting. When I started, I found that the original content was rather brief and lacked some detailed information about the history and technological development of electric vehicles. Therefore, I decided to add more background knowledge about electric vehicles, including its development history, major technologies, and future trends. I also specially added some environmental advantages of electric vehicles, which is very popular among readers.

2.Interesting point

An interesting challenge was to ensure the accuracy of the information. To ensure the credibility of the content, I consulted a lot of scientific and technological articles and academic studies to ensure that the authoritative sources were cited. Wikipedia's "Citation Sources" requirement made me pay more attention to details, and each new piece of information needs to add a reliable source link.

Another interesting point is Wikipedia's editing tool. Although it looks very simple, it has powerful functions. I easily inserted pictures, data tables, and external links through it to make the article look more complete and attractive.

3.Discussion

Do Wikipedia's volunteer editors represent the knowledge and needs of users around the world?

Discuss the diversity of Wikipedia editors and whether they adequately reflect the needs of different cultures and backgrounds around the world.

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
