This week, I completed the translation of the Wikipedia article about the Men’s T20 World Cup. Organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Men’s T20 World Cup is a premier international short-format cricket tournament. Since its inaugural event in 2007, it has quickly become one of the most popular sporting events worldwide. The article provides a detailed overview of the tournament’s history, scheduling, participating teams and their performances, as well as the tournament’s significant role in promoting cricket globally. Through this translation, I became more familiar with the core rules and structure of cricket, and I also learned how the T20 World Cup has helped expand the sport’s reach, especially in countries where cricket is not traditionally popular.

2. Interesting Points

What fascinated me during the translation was how the Men’s T20 World Cup serves not only as a sports competition but also as a platform for cultural exchange and sportsmanship among nations. The fast pace and compact format of T20 matches make the games more exciting and viewer-friendly, attracting many young fans. The article also highlighted the rise of emerging teams like Afghanistan, which have rapidly gained competitive strength, adding diversity and competitiveness to the tournament. Additionally, the T20 World Cup has significantly boosted commercial sponsorship, media coverage, and player career development, making it an important part of the modern sports industry.

3. Questions Raised

After finishing the translation, several questions came to mind. First, does the fast-paced T20 format impact the traditional culture and technical skills of cricket? Second, as the tournament globalizes, how can fairness and competitive balance be maintained among teams from very different cricketing backgrounds? Third, with increasing commercialization, how can the tournament preserve sportsmanship and protect players’ rights? Finally, I’m curious about the future trends and innovations in the Men’s T20 World Cup and how they might influence the global landscape of cricket.

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
