Week1 Introduction- Kwon Hyunji(권현지)

 1. Summary

In this week's class, we learned about the overall composition of the class, how to perform the main assignments through Wikipedia, and how to use blogs. I learned about editing in Wikipedia's main tasks, and I was able to improve my understanding of Wikipedia's forms. And through the activities of editing my Wikipedia user page, I was able to learn how to use Wikipedia faster. It was fascinating how to attach photos, and there was Wikipedia's own special way of editing. And there was a talk page where other people could talk about my editing.


2. Interesting point

The most interesting thing was how to use Wikipedia, which I learned through classes and online lectures. I came to think about how to develop the content and composition of the main project in the future. I thought it would be meaningful because the meaning of collaboration in the main task and the nature of Wikipedia would provide an atmosphere where we could freely give feedback on each other's tasks. I thought that the importance of knowledge-sharing activities and the understanding of the Wikipedia platform would be well achieved to perform future activities smoothly, and I was looking forward to the tasks to be made in the future.


3. Discussion

What are the benefits of collaboration on Wikipedia? 

What are the possible problems with Wikipedia, in the form of an online encyclopedia in which various people participate?

Week 1. My Recent Wikipedia Edits - Jeong seolah (정설아)

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan. With a population exceeding 2.3 million, it is the fourth-largest metropolitan city in South Korea and the second-largest in the Yeongnam region after Busan. Week4 - Review about the readings for the next week. - Jo HyeonSeong (조현성)

 1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
