Week13(extra credit)- Technology Assignment-YUJIE 여결

What did I do?

On May 24th, I decided to give up using electronic devices like my phone and computer, choosing instead to read paper books and record my observations and feelings with a pen and notebook. At the same time, I didn’t use a washing machine and opted to hand-wash my clothes, experiencing a day without modern technology.


What did I learn?

Through this experience, we realized just how important modern technology is in our lives. Without phones and computers, accessing information and communicating with others becomes very inconvenient. Washing clothes by hand is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive, but it can also be very exhausting, especially when washing heavy garments. Avoid using elevators instead of stairs; while exercising, it can be quite challenging for those living in high-rise buildings. Overall, this lets us
We should cherish the conveniences brought by modern technology even more and also remind ourselves to make reasonable use of it, rather than relying entirely on it.


Was it fun?

This experience was both interesting and challenging. Putting down electronic devices made me feel calmer and slowed down my pace of life, but it also felt a bit boring and unfamiliar. Hand-washing clothes and walking up stairs made me feel physically tired. All in all, this experience gave me a deeper understanding of past lifestyles and made me more grateful for the conveniences of modern technology. I gained a lot from it.

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve.
