Week13(extra credit)- Technology Assignment-CHEN SIWEN 진사문
What did I do?
For our class project, I challenged myself to live one full day without using any modern technology. On May 24, I didn’t use my phone, computer, or any electrical appliances. I cooked using a gas stove, handwashed my clothes, read paper books, and recorded my day with pen and paper.
What did I learn?
At first, it was uncomfortable. I kept reaching for my phone to check the time or messages. But as the day went on, I realized how much I rely on technology without even thinking about it. Without constant digital distractions, I had more time to focus, reflect, and simply be present. It made me more aware of my habits and how fast-paced my usual life is.
Was it fun?
Honestly, it wasn’t fun at the beginning. I felt disconnected and restless. But eventually, I started to enjoy the quiet and simplicity. It was a refreshing experience. I wouldn’t want to live like that every day, but stepping away from technology for a while gave me a new perspective.
