Week14---My Wikipedia Edits -- LIUZIYE

 This week, I worked on editing the article titled “Working Class” on Chinese Wikipedia. When I opened the page, I noticed a banner at the top saying: “This article can be expanded based on the corresponding English Wikipedia entry… According to copyright policy, translated content must include a source notice in the edit summary or a {{Translated page}} tag on the talk page.”

This made me realize that translation on Wikipedia must be handled with extra care—not only avoiding machine translation but also ensuring that the source content is of high quality. I took a cautious approach to editing, using clear and formal language for translation. After finishing the edit, I followed the instructions and correctly added the {{translated page}} template with the version number.

I also discovered a project template at the bottom of the article showing that this page is classified as a Stub-Class, Mid-Importance article under the Politics Project, and it is part of the “Social and Social Sciences” foundation group. Knowing that this short entry holds structural importance within Wikipedia gave me a sense of responsibility and motivation to do a better job.

Week 1. My Recent Wikipedia Edits - Jeong seolah (정설아)

I made several edits to the Wikipedia page for 'Daegu'.  Daegu, located in the southeastern part of South Korea, is the third-largest urban area in the country, following Seoul and Busan. With a population exceeding 2.3 million, it is the fourth-largest metropolitan city in South Korea and the second-largest in the Yeongnam region after Busan.  1. Summarize in my own words of materials. The book is primarily about the openness of Wikipedia. Openness means that anyone can participate in the creation and editing of articles without any qualifications. Openness can be a double-edged sword. While it means that you can edit without having expert knowledge of a topic, it also means that you can participate even if you have expert knowledge. For experts, articles written by non-experts can come across as inaccurate knowledge, which can anger experts. This anger can also be a catalyst for Wikipedia to continue to improve. However, articles edited only by non-experts can cause misunderstandings and convey incorrect information, so openness can be considered a double-edged sword.
