Summary

Through translating "Korean Historiography" and "Southeast Daily" on Wikipedia, I've gained profound understanding of the intricate relationship between knowledge production and social power structures. These projects not only improved my language skills but also reshaped my perspectives on historical narratives and media operations.

Interesting Findings

The translation process revealed fascinating insights:
Korean historiography displays distinct phases: from the "China-centered view" in Goryeo period to awakening of local consciousness in late Joseon, then to national historiography during colonial era
Southeast Daily's unique "party stance, liberal color" approach under special political circumstances created an innovative cross-regional publishing network

Discussion

This work prompted three levels of reflection:

1. Summary This week, I participated in the editing of the Wikipedia entry "Wenchuan Earthquake". The earthquake occurred on May 12, 2008, which is one of the most serious natural disasters in China in recent years. By consulting official reports, academic literature and various documentary materials, I supplemented and corrected some of the content in the entry, especially adding more information on the background of the earthquake, rescue operations and subsequent reconstruction. 2. Interesting points During the editing process, I found interesting differences between public memory and documented records.
