Week16 - KIM JUHEE (김주희) : Edit My Wikipedia

  1. Summary (러시아의 부패 - 위키백과중국의 부패 - 위키백과)
    I have completed the task of translating two English Wikipedia articles into Korean. The two articles are "Corruption in Russia" and "Corruption in China," which I translated into Korean. The main task was translating the content, but I also worked on formatting the articles, citing references, writing categories, and inserting links into words, among other things. I wrote the drafts in a notebook and reviewed them before posting the final version on the Korean Wikipedia. I will continue to check for feedback regularly and make corrections if there are any issues.

  2. Interesting Points
    Writing the entire article from start to finish was a unique experience, and it was very interesting. Although it was a translation of existing articles, it felt like something new was created, which made me feel proud. I also felt a sense of responsibility, thinking that someone might benefit from or be positively influenced by the articles I created and edited. It was also quite exciting and surprising to see the learning effects from applying what I had learned during the semester. Gradually using the skills I had gained in class to create these articles made me realize that I was improving and getting better at it.

    I am curious about the evaluation of the articles I wrote. What do you think about them? Also, what activity from this semester has left the most impression on you?

  1. I'm genuinely curious to hear feedback on the articles I translated. Personally, I tried to stay faithful to the original content while making it sound natural and readable in Chinese. I paid special attention to terminology and clarity, so I'm interested to know if that effort came through to the reader or reviewer. Did the translation flow well? Were the ideas communicated clearly?

    As for the activity that left the strongest impression on me this semester, it would definitely be the Wikipedia translation project itself. It wasn’t just about language practice — it was about bridging knowledge gaps. I realized that I wasn’t simply translating words, but helping make information more accessible to a wider audience. That sense of contribution, even on a small scale, made the project feel especially meaningful. It also pushed me to think critically about language, accuracy, and cultural nuance, which I found both challenging and rewarding.
